"Onshore-Onsite" project and requirements
management from BEA and EPAM
In 2001 BEA Systems Ltd. recognized the need of European clients to take advantage
of "Offshore" outsourcing costs, while not compromising on skills and
experience specific to advanced BEA technologies. Clients wanted BEA to maintain
standards of compliance in architectural and development best practices while avoiding
the time and travel drawbacks associated with "Offshore" centres.
BEA chose EPAM Systems in Budapest as its partner to provide this delivery model
offering the services together with local BEA Professional Services to satisfy the
needs of its clients. The "WebLogic NearSourcing Centre" (WNC) was thus
created.

Value Leadership with "NearSourcing"
"NearSourcing" delivers cost advantages like those of "Offshoring"
but, in addition, "NearSourcing" offers geographic proximity and similar
time zones ("WNC" is in Central Europe), unlike "Offshoring".
Making regular face-to-face and telephone communications less expensive, more convenient
and more flexibly planned, whether at the "WNC" or at the client's offices.
Simplification, increased flexibility and greater efficacy of collaboration among
the teams from the client, BEA and the "WNC" further improves cost and
time savings. Requirements management, change management and project control are
also simpler, more transparent and more effective, which significantly enhances
the risk management process, when combined.
